Located in the beautiful mountains of Western North Carolina, Asheville provides a warm, welcoming community that combines small town charm with the creative energy of a much larger city. It is home to a diverse array of residents from artists and entrepreneurs, farmers and foodies, college students and retired seniors and is one of the United States’ most popular travel destinations. Year-round activities include music festivals, art exhibitions, farmers markets, street fairs, leadership conferences and health and wellness events. Within a short drive from town, there are countless opportunities to experience the tranquil beauty and outdoor adventure the Blue Ridge Mountains has to offer.
For Our Students
Programming at The Goodale School is enriched by Asheville’s vibrant community and by our partnership with local business, organizations and individuals who want to make a difference. As our students gain skills and self-confidence in our real life recovery program, they learn from new experiences and situations as they explore their responsibilities within a larger community setting.
FOR FAMILIES
Because family involvement is an important part of our program, it is important to note that the Asheville Regional Airport (AVL) is located just 20 minutes from The Goodale School and is accessible via non-stop flights from many major US cities.

Asheville is home to a wide selection of hotels, bed-and-breakfast inns and vacation home rentals to accommodate your family during visits. During downtime, you’ll have the opportunity to explore the vibrant city and enjoy the beauty of the Blue Ridge Mountains.

The Goodale School team is happy to speak with you to determine if our program is the right fit for your son or client. For information, please contact our Admissions Team at (828) 220-0040 or email [email protected].
